Here are two videos showing the slaughter of turkeys. The one above was filmed by the Tabor family, which runs its own slaughterhouse facility. The other (below, left) was filmed by an activist in Israel. After viewing both, decide whether animal rights people are aggrandizing, irrational individuals, or whether meat, dairy and egg-eaters are psychotic, heartless automatons who need to be hit upside their heads with an aluminum baseball bat to awaken them from their soporific states.
The horrific abuse you see here is standard operating procedure for the turkey industry, as well as for the world's meat industries in general. While still alive and in captivity, nearly every turkey also has a portion of their beak and toes cut off with red-hot blades while they're fully conscious to prevent them from pecking and clawing each other in their overcrowded environments. These mutilations keep the profit levels high because the meat industry would be unable to sell the majority of damaged turkey flesh! Steel poles are shoved down their throats three times a day to force-feed them up to four pounds of grains in order to fatten up their livers to 10 times their natural size.
