(Posted August 21, 2015) At least once a day, a vegan woman emails me about how she should deal with her non vegan husband/boyfriend AFTER she has educated him and he still refuses to change, even if he is “supportive” of her living without exploiting other animals. Here’s my SARCASTICALLY TRUTHFUL standard response:
“First, if you want to reach him, SHUT YOUR LEGS, and keep ‘em shut. Why are you choosing to stay with this meat, dairy and egg-eater anyway? Does he shit gold bricks? Does his dick taste like Vegenaise? Don’t let this man's blood-stained lips kiss yours! You need to lay down an ULTIMATUM immediately! He can change his ways and keep you, or toss him into the same trash heap that he tosses the animals into. He doesn't deserve you even if he 'supports' your lifestyle. It is one thing to keep non vegan friends or family members in your life. But to be in a UNION with someone who is not vegan is disingenuous because you wouldn’t be with him if he molested children, beat up gay people, or had a swastika tattoo. Go find yourself a good man. One with a good soul. Someone who cares. Doesn't it say something about one's character when THEY ARE INFORMED about the cruelty they are participating in yet they refuse to stop? Make him watch my speech and/or the Earthlings documentary. And if those videos don’t work, he is hopeless and you need to end it! Then, buy yourself a dildo, and rescue a dog from a shelter, and you'll have all the excitement, and companionship and love you will ever need. **(If she isn’t married to him yet but thinking about it, add the following)** And what do you think will happen if you decide to marry him? Do you really think there won't be dead animals in your refrigerator, and at your wedding? What do you think will happen if you have a child? Do you really think he will agree to raise the kid vegan? Even if he says he will, when you are not around, he will give him/her animal products. Stop enabling his immorality and tell him how it’s gonna be, or tell him to get lost. Eating animal products is not a choice. Living vegan is a moral imperative.”
